Screen Rant has a great write-up about season 2 of Frank Darabont’s Walking Dead adaptation which you can read here. I think the big take-away is that Stephen King is not only a huge fan, but that Darabont would like him to pen an episode for the upcoming season. The one catch is that King wants to write the episode with his son Joe Hill (a respected author in his own right).
Screen rant quotes Darabont saying:
“We’ve literally just been waiting for their schedules, given that they’re pretty in-demand guys. Both of them. We’ve just been waiting for their schedules to mesh. For them to both be free at the same time. That’s the only thing that’s stopping it from happening. It’ll happen eventually, I’m sure.”
So it looks like we’ll have to wait for it. However, much like Neil Gaiman’s episode of Doctor Who, I’m sure it will be well worth the wait. Hopefully, the longer season arc combined with Darabont’s willingness to kill off some major characters will make this upcoming season more dynamic than the last. Add to that a contribution from King and Hill, and we’re looking at one gory, tense season of zombocalypse horror. Check the link for the full quote and some more rumors about characters that will be showing up in season 3!
