CW Planning Green Arrow Television Series!!!

EW is reporting that the CW is close to ordering a Green Arrow pilot.  It appears that becoming a somewhat regular on Smallville (actor Justin Hartley is credited with 72 episodes on IMDb) has paid off.  It’s unclear whether we will see the Smallville incarnation of the character, or a version closer to the bearded billionaire Oliver Queen featured in DC’s comics.  Greg Berlanti and Marc Guggenheim are writing/ executive producing the project along with Andrew Kreisberg who worked on Green Arrow & Black Canary for DC (picking up with issue 15, after the departure of Judd Winick).

Personally, I’ve only seen the Smallville version once.  I just didn’t feel the need to watch teenage/early 20’s versions of DC characters struggle with their choices to be a hero, or just a regular Joe.  If this series continues forward, I’d like to see an adult Oliver Queen fighting the crime of Star City, perhaps even featuring his time as mayor.  Realistically I’m expecting a young Green Arrow fighting crime & having relationship issues, because it’s still the CW (the same network that airs One Tree Hill).  Let’s just not do the whole Wonder Woman thing again, ok?
