The star of The Hobbit, Martin Freeman, recently stated that Benedict Cumberbatch will be have a roll in Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit.
For anyone who isn’t familiar with Benedict Cumberbatch OR Martin Freeman, they acted side by side in the BBC’s Sherlock, a modern twist on Sherlock Holmes that takes place in present day. Martin Freeman plays John Watson, while Benedict Cumberbatch expertly played the awkward and aloof Sherlock Holmes.
Martin Freeman gave no hint as to who Benedict would be playing. If he will be playing a title character from the book, my bet is on Bard, the stony-faced man from Laketown who kills the dragon Smaug. I’m sure some of you might be crying “SPOILERS” right now, but I think the “Spoiler” rule only lasts for like five years after the initial release of the piece. Because if you don’t know what happened in a book that came out almost 75 years ago, then you’re a bit behind in the times.
And if you are saying “Well I never read it! So there!” then too bad for you, you had your chance!
