As an avid Harry Potter book and movie fan, I would say that the movies have so far done a pretty decent job at delivering what J.K. Rowling originally intended. Harry Potter 7 Part 1 came out this past November, and it was good, but I think it was probably alot better for people who read the book. There were minor payoffs and subtle additions that book-fans would have appreciated, but there were also some areas where, if you never read the books, it might have been confusing or not as meaningful.
Well the series is coming to an end, with Harry Potter 7 Part 2 coming out this July. The one thing that many fans are hoping to see done correctly is the big battle from the book. (I’ll try to keep this spoiler free as much as possible, but come on, if you didn’t see that there was a big battle coming eventually, then you are insane, so thats not a spoiler!)
Warner Brothers just released the movie’s second trailer, and it looks to be quite a payoff. Instead of skimping on details from the books as usual, Harry Potter 7 Parts 1 and 2 seem to be keeping everything and adding a bit more! Take a look below:
One thing that looks promisingly badass is the fight at the Quidditch Pitch. That’s the area with the really tall metal spires all over the place from the trailer above.
In the book the big fight is barely focused on, but this trailer as well as the original seems to indicate that the movie will be showing much more of the actual fight, and what happens to the people involved.
For anyone that missed the first trailer for this movie, check it out here:
These movies stylistically keep getting better and better, so the final one looks like it could take the cake. We will find out in July!
