I normally don’t post things like this, but earlier this morning Cinema Blend posted this article regarding a Star Trek theme park being built in Jordan. It is being built in the town of Aqaba, along the Jordan coast. King Abdullah II is a well-noted trekkie, and this just adds to his street cred. The park is his brainchild, and the folks over at CBS & Paramount (who own the TV & film rights respectively) are on board.
I love the idea of a Trek park, even though I am decidedly a Star Wars fan first. The central experience of the park will be a space based ride which is sure to rock. Here’s hoping there is going to be a cantina/pub manned solely by Ferengi! I can honestly say that once this park is completed I will be booking my flight to Jordan.
