Sabre-Dunder Mifflin’s new branch manager for Scranton is….
Robert California, played by the original Dr. Daniel Jackson himself, James Spader. The word is that not only will he be taking over the Scranton position, but quickly takes aim at the CEO desk for the entire company. I love the choice. I only caught a few episodes of “Boston Legal” during it’s original run, but I found them to be quite entertaining. The character of Robert California brings a unique presence to Scranton, and the Sabre-Dunder Mifflin company in general. I love his line from the interview process, “The is no such thing as a product. Don’t ever think there is. There is only sex.”
I’m greatly looking forward to this new season!

I wasn’t too impressed with the writers’ need to shake things up so drastically in the last season. It all felt a little rushed and slap-dash. A good season overall but hopefully with all of that behind us, we can get one more classic season.
James Spader is going to make season 8 something really special. He’s hilarious and a perfect counter-point to everyone at Dunder Mifflin.
